Urban Rehabilitation Maintains Recovery in January

According to AICCOPN’s Urban Rehabilitation Barometer, published on February 25, the urban rehabilitation sector continued its recovery in January.

According to a survey conducted by the Association of Civil Construction and Public Works Industries of entrepreneurs operating in the rehabilitation market, urban rehabilitation works fell by 6.5% in January, compared to steeper falls in previous months.

Urban rehabilitation works in Portugal recorded a year-on-year decrease of 6.5%, compared to the same period in January, compared to the 10.1% decrease in December and the 14.6% drop in November. Thus, the data points to a continued, though slow recovery, for the sector.

According to the survey, order books volume followed a similar path, posting a year-on-year fall of 8.5%, compared to the drops of 13.4% and 13.6% in December and November, respectively.

AICCOPN’s Barometer also revealed an improvement in months of contracted production, i.e. the time needed to complete existing projects at an average production rate, which stood at 7.7 months in January.
