Sogenave to Invest €22 Million in Logistics Centre in Barreiro

Built on a 2,100-m2 site, the future facility will be a new logistics and distribution centre.

In a 22-million-euro investment, the Barreiro City Council approved a set of incentives to create the Sogenave Logistics Centre, expected to generate 572 jobs. According to the local authority, construction of the logistics and distribution centre is scheduled to start in early 2023.

In the Parish of Palhais and Coina, the future building will have three floors and four functional units for ambient storage, cold storage, administrative areas and technical and social areas. Outside there will be car parks and green spaces.

Sogenave, with over 40 years of experience in food and non-food supplies, buys, sells and distributes a wide range of products throughout Portugal, using eight logistics platforms/commercial hubs to serve the entire country. Sogenave is part of the Trivalor group, a holding company a half-century old.

According to the information provided by the local authority, the Barreiro facilities will also house the other companies of this Portuguese group.
