7 December 2020 – According to data published by the Bank of Portugal, after an increase in September, the issuance of new mortgage loans accelerated again in October, while interest rates on such loans once again fell to a record low.
The total volume of loans issued reached more than 9 billion euros in the year to October, with 976 million euros in new mortgage loans.
The total was the highest amount granted in a single month since January this year. The month-on-month increase reached 0.62%, with a year-on-year rise of 2%.
