17 November 2020 – Matosinhos has been chosen as the site of the first International Hotel GlobalBrand “Four Points by Sheraton”, owned by the Marriott group, in a €19-million investment by the Mercan group.
The new hotel will be located next to Praça Guilherme Pinto, between the Brito e Cunha and Sousa Aroso streets. The project will boast a construction area of 7,265 m2, with 108 aparthotel rooms and facilities such as a restaurant and bar.
In a ceremony that included the participation of the mayor of Matosinhos, Luísa Salgueiro, and the vice-president of the Municipality, Fernando Rocha, participants laid the project’s first stone in October.
