Lisbon Hosts NPL Days Portugal on June 24

DD Talks is coming to Lisbon, bringing together senior investors, banks, funds, servicers and real estate specialists operating in the Portuguese Non-Performing Loans market.

In 2020, the Portuguese banking system held the third-largest stock of loans and advances under moratoria, at €41.5 billion, according to data from the European Banking Authority. Italy and Spain ranked first and second, with a stock of 115.6 billion and 57.9 billion, respectively.

With more than 20% of total loans under moratoria, Portuguese banks are among the most reliant on pandemic support measures in Europe. Most of these loans include exposures to small and medium-sized businesses that ended in the third quarter of 2021.

José Covas, the Managing Partner of Aura REE Portugal, has been invited to moderate the commentators’ panel and present the NPL Days Portugal conference, to be held on June 24 at the Corinthia hotel in Lisbon.

The conference will feature some well-known participants in the real estate sector. For now, José Araújo (Millennium bcp), Nuno Martins (CGD), Rita Rendeiro (Abanca), Volkert Reig Schmidt (GNB Real Estate), João Ferreira Marques (ActiveCap), Manuel de Macedo Santos (Alantra) and Hugo Velez (HipoGes) have confirmed.
