This week, the Portuguese central bank released statistics regarding interest rates and the volume of new bank loans and deposits from businesses and individuals. The housing sector, mortgage lending, accounted for 68% of the new loans by individuals between January and September 2021.

A total of 18,475 dwellings were licensed in new builds.

At the end of the third quarter of the year, signed public works contracts were up, despite the drop in the tenders.

Residential bank valuations rose by an average of fifteen euros per square metre compared to the month before.
