In the Alentejo, 1,044 new residential building permits were granted.
Cement consumption in Portugal totalled 2.87 million tons in the year to September, an increase of 6.6% year-on-year, according to AICCOPN’s Statistical Housing Synthesis.
During the first nine months of 2021, 13,972 residential building works were licensed by Portugal’s municipal councils, a growth of 12.0% y-o-y. The increase was boosted by a rise in new residential building permits, which grew by 15.3% year on year. At the same time, the licensing of rehabilitation works rose by just 1.2% year on year.
New mortgages granted by financial institutions totalled 11.157 billion euros in the year to September, an increase of 37.8%, compared to the same months of 2020.
